Hitched

I am very excited to say that Brooke and I got married! She is perfect! We were married at The Don Cesar Hotel in St. Pete Beach on October 3, 2009 at 6 pm. We were married on the beach, and it was pretty much a perfect wedding. My groomsmen were my friends Sean Johnson, Daniel Veal, Jim Walzak, and my sister Angie's boyfriend Keith Hutchinson. Brooke's ladies were here friend Paige Leonard, my sisters Angie and Tanya, and her sister Brigitte. The reception rocked (except a certain JOCKEY) , food was great, and good time had by all in the Don. Our honeymoon was in Jamaica. We hid away for 8 days and 7 nights, at Couples Sans Souci Resort in Ocho Rios. I must say that was f
pretty damn nice. I actually forgot about work and life back in the States. I mean for about 3 days I had no clue what the date was. Amazing. Also, it was probably the longest I have ever been without talking on the phone since 7th grade.

I am still working in Tampa, Stella still licks a lot, and Greta's Got a Gun!

Sneezing

I have one week and a day until I get married. Wow! Plans are coming together and Brooke is handling the stress pretty good. I never realized how many small details have to be taken care of for a wedding to come off perfect. Well, I couldn't sleep last night because I awoke around 4:30 a.m. sneezing and sniffling, allergies! So, I am up now...barely...and I have the whole day ahead of me. See ya!

What?? When?

Since I havent written in a while, I will let you know that I AM GETTING MARRIED!!!!
I asked Brooke on her birthday if she would marry me, and she said YES!! The date is October 3rd at the Don Cesar Beach resort in St. Pete Beach, FL. She will be my beautiful wife, finally! It should be fabulous. We went on Sunday down to Naples to have our engagement photos taken by our photographer, Karl. It went well, except it being 80% humidity and 92 degrees, but that is south Florida for ya. On a side note, I caught two fat daddy trout Saturday in Anna Maria Sound. Brooke and I got skunked Saturday and Monday wade fishing off Emerson Point in the Gulf. We will have to do it again later!

Employment

Okay, the end of the story first. I LANDED A JOB!! clap clap, yay yay! Now a little on how I arrived at this juncture. My girlfriend Melinda Brooke Lightsey graduated with her Master's Degree in Speech and Language Communications in December 2007 and took a job at Manatee County Elementary School in Bradenton, Fl in January 2008. We had been coming to Clearwater and St. Pete Beach for vacation for a couple of years and we really enjoyed the Tampa Bay area, the beaches, the weather, and it is not too far from home. We needed to leave Valdosta, as I believe everyone should leave their home. I have worked in sales for ATT/Cingular since September 2000, a little shy of 8 years. By the time she moved, I still had not found a job, but I did what I would never recommend to anyone and I just up and quit ATT on February 22, 2008and moved to Florida in a dizzying whirlwind of freedom that I had quit a job I was unhappy at, and the apprehension of starting a new career, a new life, with my living girlfriend, away from home.
Well, since about April (I seriously CHILLED for the month of March, and went to the beach, the pool, and fished every day) I have been looking for a job. It is a tremendous self analyzing time in your life, when you are 31, with two degrees, and no CLUE as to what you want to do with your life. I am good at sales, because I have a charismatic and charming personality that is fluid. I tried to get into pharmaceutical sales, HARD, to no avail. With no outside or B2B sales, I was last place. I have been spending about 30 hours a week sitting at my computer, sending out resumés, posting them on job boards, interviewing, reading books, and doing a serious job search. Well, 4 months have passed by and I still had no job. In the meantime, I have really enjoyed Florida, I didn't let my unemployment get in the way of me having fun. I have caught my first snook (a 40 inch monster!), trout, flounder, jack crevalle, sheepshead, and have been to beaches up and down the Sun Coast of Florida. I have been to Rays games, museums, and seen many a beautiful sunset on Anna Maria Island. The nagging feeling of being meaningless, when people would ask me what I did, or what my job was, can get you down sometimes, but I persevered and kept up the search. Well, to wrap up this post, my sister Tanya works at Lee Container in Homerville, GA and she knew some connections in Florida, who needed a sales rep. A couple of phone calls, a meeting or two, and yesterday I landed a sales job with All American Containers in Tampa. I start September 2nd. Now, ain't that somethin?

Baaaack

Guess what little kiddies? Its one year later, and I'm in a different state, and MY BACK STILL HURTS!!! yay for Mr. Sciatica, he's my persistent friend who helps me hate simple things such as sitting, moving, walking, and even typing! Seriously, It has been a while since I have posted, I was reminded of this electronic nuance last night when I told my friend Jim I would send him the link to this blog website, he wants to keep an electronic journal of him and his son Caleb's adventures. Well, I am still on meds and still in pain, so we will see where this madness will bring me soon. bye.

The back saga

Ok, the back is still pretty painful, especially when I stand. I have not enjoyed too much of that "standing" stuff lately. Hopefully, the situation will return to sane. I'll post later.
